truelife 1

I am 19 and live in NY. this blog's purpose is to shed light on the pro-life movement. A variety of topics will appear here including abortion, assisted suicide and the arguments of individuals on both sides of these vital issues. I wanted to start this blog with a bang and begin to shed some light on Obama care. Many people are confused, worried, and afraid of the bits and pieces they have heard about this; no one can blame them. This "form" is beyond frightening as it essentially takes away many life saving treatments as well as your decision as to what you can receive. The scariest part that most people think they know about is what has been said about the "death panel". The actual name for this is the Independent Payment Advisory Commission/Board or IPAC for short. Their job is to meet every other year, beginning in 2015, and decide which treatments no longer meet their "quality and efficiency standards, which can basically be boiled down to if a treatment is too expensive for their approval. For example if a man has a heart attack, and the surgery that can save his life was dubbed to be too expensive, the man will not receive the treatment that will probably have saved his life. Now, if you're thinking that "couldn't he just pay for the treatment out of pocket?", well, Obama care took care of that. If his health insurance will only cover $5,000 of a $7000 treatment, this bill will stop him from using his own money to pay for the precedure that did not meet the standards of I.P.A.C. This also applies to medications. If an elderly woman needs to pick up her blood pressure medication, but Medicare won't cover all the costs, she will no longer be able to put out her own money to purchase the lifesaving medication; essentially making this health care reform even worse. This is just a small introduction into the way this new reform will lead our country unless the bill can be overturned.

until next time,
